Attendees at the Miami Beach Air and Sea Show were a little bit safer this year, thanks to the Florida International University Advanced Surgical Transport team (FIU-FAST), and their 10-bed Western Shelter critical care hospital.

During a recent field exercise the Costa Rica Type 1 EMT took 360 degree photos of their Western Shelter facility to serve as a virtual tour. We couldn't have asked for a better way to show off our equipment in a deployed state.

We made the news in Costa Rica! One of our field hospitals was deployed so that it could be certified as an EMT-1 (Emergency Medical Team; level 1) facility by the Pan American Health Organization. EMT-1 hospitals perform critical outpatient medical care in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
